OD and Coaching: Time to get serious

 Michael Bungay Stanier

This article offers up three tactics that can be used to make coaching a more powerful process in support of organizational change 1. Make coaching strategic. Rather than being an end in itself, use coaching as a tactic to support a bigger goal. 2. Address the resistance to coaching. Managers and leaders resist coaching at some level. Making that resistance explicit and addressing it is a powerful intervention 3. Abandon external role models. Ironically external coaches are poor role models for internal coaches. Creating a new definition of what good coaching looks like internally in important. The article also offers up some coaching definitions and resources.
